How a Portrait Session Works

Most people have never had a real portrait made, so here's exactly what happens. We plan everything together before the shoot, I direct you the whole time, and then we sit down together to choose the portraits you'll hang on your walls and hand down. No guessing and no surprise invoices.

It Starts With a Conversation

Every session begins with a free consultation call. We talk about who's being photographed, what you'd love to see on your walls, what to wear, and a budget you're comfortable with. You'll hang up knowing exactly what your session looks like and what it costs.

From there, we plan the details together: wardrobe, location or studio setup, and who's in which shots. You show up ready, not nervous.

Three Steps

The Consult

A free call to plan your session, your wardrobe, and the pieces you want for your home. We set a budget together so there are no surprises later.

The Session

I direct every pose and expression so you never have to guess what to do with your hands. It's relaxed and unhurried, in the studio or on location.

The Reveal

After your session, we sit down together to see your portraits for the first time. You choose your favorites and the wall art, album, or folio box that fits your home.

Your portraits shouldn't live on a hard drive. Every portrait session is built around finished pieces: wall art for your home, an album for the coffee table, or a folio box of matted prints you can pass around the room. Branding sessions are the one exception. Those images are made for screens, so they're delivered as digital files.

FAQ

How much does a portrait session cost?

The Portrait Experience session fee is $495. It covers your planning call, your guided session, and your private reveal. Artwork collections are chosen at your reveal and start at $995. We'll talk budget on your consultation call, so you'll know what to expect before we ever pick up a camera.

Do I get digital files?

Yes. Every collection includes your retouched digital files, so you can share them while the originals hang on your wall. Branding sessions are delivered digitally.

How does the booking process work from start to finish?

Start with a free consultation. If it feels like a fit, the $495 session fee is paid in full to reserve your date. Your artwork order is placed at your private reveal.

What should we wear?

We'll cover this at your consultation. I'll help you pick colors and pieces that work together and still look right on your wall years from now, not just this season.
